New SureFood® Solutions for PCR Analysis

R-Biopharm is expanding its range of molecular biology solutions SureFood® for the analysis of food and feed.

The new products include kits for the detection of DNA from genetically modified HB4 wheat and alfalfa, as well as an update to the GMO screening kit.

SureFood® GMO ID HB4 Wheat (Art. No. S2036) is a real-time PCR kit designed for the specific detection of DNA from genetically modified HB4 wheat.

HB4 wheat (OECD unique identifier IND-ØØ412-7) contains an additionally introduced gene, HaHB4, derived from sunflower, which provides the plant with increased tolerance to drought conditions.

As of September 2025, HB4 wheat had not been approved as a genetically modified organism in the European Union.

SureFood® ALFALFA (Art. No. S7012) is a real-time PCR kit designed for the qualitative detection of a specific DNA sequence from alfalfa (Medicago sativa) in food and feed.

SureFood® GMO SCREEN 4plex Update

The primer-probe system of the SureFood® GMO SCREEN 4plex BAR/NPTII/PAT/CTP2 EPSPS (Art. No. S2127) real-time PCR kit has been updated.

The kit now also includes the detection of moPAT, in addition to PAT.

These new and updated SureFood® solutions expand laboratory capabilities for the molecular analysis of food and feed, including the detection of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and species-specific DNA.
