New Solutions for Tuberculosis Diagnostics Based on the IP-10 Biomarker

Our partners, R-Biopharm, have introduced a new generation of diagnostic solutions for the detection of tuberculosis (TB) based on the IP-10 biomarker (interferon-gamma induced protein 10). These tests are CE IVDR certified and designed for use both in fully equipped laboratories and in settings with limited infrastructure.

The technology is based on the detection of the IP-10 biomarker, which is released after T-cell stimulation with tuberculosis antigens. The concentration of this marker can be up to 100 times higher than interferon-γ, making it a highly promising indicator for more sensitive disease detection.
Testing requires only three stimulation tubes and one of two analysis methods — either a laboratory-based ELISA assay or a rapid lateral flow test. This approach enables the system to be used both in advanced laboratory environments and in healthcare facilities with minimal laboratory equipment.
This new generation of TB diagnostics based on IP-10 represents a significant step forward compared to traditional methods for latent TB testing. It provides healthcare professionals with a simple, reliable, and efficient tool for detecting tuberculosis across various clinical settings.
